PF284 ~ PSC01 alternative
« on: January 25, 2013, 05:54:54 PM »

Hello, i am aware that there is no direct alternative to this unit. but for what i was using it for there may be something else that will work.

setup: wiring a push button to this unit so that when the button is pushed it sends a signal to UM506 / PUM01 to relay our 24VAC which starts our machine. we use the push button because the machine we are running on the other end is on a timer, so we don't want to have to reset a toggle switch everytime we want to use it.

so basically is there any other unit out there that can have a push button wired in so that i can send the signal everytime its pressed.

any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Yes as long as it is a dry closure. Like from a push button as it will not accept a low voltage like a Powerflash unit can.
The Insteon 2450 I/OLinc can have an X10 address added to its Sensor Input and one to its Relay Output.
I have used one as a test. Triggering an X10 Chime Module.

Users and Quick Start manuals are linked on the sales page if you care to look at them.

Side Note: One of the independent X10 Automation Dealers. Posted they have an active Factory Order for PSC01s and expect a delivery in early 2013. Though what early 2013 equates to unknown.  ;)

I just bought an I/O Link because my my four or five Power Flashes all seem to be doing a strange slow failure (over a three year period). Can't wait to try it.

dave w . One other difference in the I/OLinc is it can send an X10 On or Off. Depending on how you add the X10 address, when the Sensor Input is closed.
Full Users manual gives all the details.

Yes I saw that and intend on using it to ensure the I/O link relay can only lower the garage but not raise it.

Thanks!
