How about a small, unobtrusive sign that says "WARNING!!  Camera infrared lights may cause permanent damage to your eyes!!"

Updated sign

"WARNING!! Camera infrared light may cause permanent damage to your eyes!!"
"Criminals!! Enter At Your Own Risk!!"
