plug in phase couplers
« on: March 04, 2013, 06:49:58 AM »

i have  tried to locate   one of these things  as per you tech dept.  but so far i haven't found  one
i was told  that in  April you should have then in stock again
I'll need to know :
what you call them  and  how much are they as per your catalog and  when do you expect them in the warehouse
I'm needing  one of these couplers since  we are not allowed to make  changes on this rental property and i have an unused  dryer  socket
under the   breaker panel
thanks

Since this is a user to user style forum. A official X10 reply would be rare.

Catalog? I have never seen an X10 Catalog. Are you sure it was an X10 catalog and not a third party automation dealer?

Are you sure you saw an X10 dryer plug in coupler?
I don't believe X10 ever made or carried anything like that.
Maybe you are thinking about the Smarthome 4816 Series Dryer Couplers that are also discontinued.

Simply Automated and PCS {two I know of}. Make plug in phase couplers for UPB but they claim {I have no information on how well they work} also will pass X10 and Insteon power line commands.

Smarthome was the only company to make dryer socket repeaters or couplers. X10 never made them and I doubt they would consider it now with their limited manufacturing capabilities.
You could wire a repeater to a dryer plug yourself. Or JD Digital Engineering might put a dryer plug on their XTBIIR repeater for you. They are very responsive to customer special needs. I own X10, Leviton, Smarthome, ACT, and the XTBIIR repeaters and the XTBIIR is superior to all the others, with ACT coming in second. (IMO).  http://jvde.us/

I looked at the catalog that I think you where referring to. I saw no mention of any type of dryer outlet couplers.

What type of dryer plug do you need? I have a spare coupler of the three pin (dryer) variety. I got it as part of a bulk "as-is" sale of X10 stuff from a user here. Unfortunately I need a 4-pin one, so I will NEVER need this one. Let me know if you need a 3-pin one.
