Hi all.  Just joined today.  Maybe I haven't searched properly.   I have ten  x10 devices, and would like to control them via my Android phone.

Is there a device and software to make this happen ?

Do you have any X10 controllers now?
Like a CM15A Interface with Active Home Pro?

There are several android apps for x10 control.
Some like TAC are free.
However all require you to have a x10 pc interface like Brian asked about.
You'll need a cm15, cm19, cm11, or cm17 connected to a PC and it running anytime you wish control from your android device.
Check the third party software add-on software section for more info.

I have two PC i7 towers and a home wireless network.   No X10 interfaces, just the modules.   I have six wall switch modules and two appliance module, set to M-1, M-2, etc.  Many years ago I had an X10 interface which I could call in from a phone and press the touch tone keys and turn lights on and off.   Is there a device which can be attached to a wireless router which will control these modules from an Android, similar to my viewing home wireless cameras in real time from mydlink.com

If you use Marmitek products, I quote this from Marmitek tech support:

Reagrding iPad Control - it could be achieved using at least the following equipment:

- CM15Pro
- Home Server PC
- PC application for iPad Control, like Magiesta (http://www.magiesta.com)

I haven't tried magiesta myself, so if there's someone who actually tried it, please let us know how it works.

Magiesta is $132 US
One would be better off looking at some of the thirdparty apps listed on this forum.
You should look at PcCompanion with TAC for total control also your not limited to Marmetec products.
PeninsulaMark doesn't have a windows PC so that would be out for them

Thank you.   Prefer to buy locally.  BestBuy is either out of them or has discontinued Insteon.

You may find one on ebay, or even a discontinued Smarthome smartlink  which would work too.

There is a bit of confusion about the Insteon Hubs sold by Best Buy.
From what we have been able to determine. They where 2412N SmartLinc modules with HUB firmware. Only sold through Best Buy.

Insteon now has their own improved HUB {original one was a disaster}. That is completely different from the Best Buy ones.

With an X10 CM11a/CM15a hardware interface connected to a computer (Windows PC, Linux, Mac, or even a RasberryPi www.raspberrypi.org)... you can run HomeGenie http://www.homegenie.it/.  This creates a server on the computer which is accessed via webpage or Android/WindowsPhone apps.

Yes it is!  I've been a convert for months and it's been serving me quite well.
