AirSight Outdoor power supplies source? 5V 2000mA failed!
« on: July 13, 2013, 04:10:26 PM »

I am trying to find a replacement for the original 1 year old Airsight 5V 2000mA power supply that failed today when I was trying to solve a port forwarding issue with my 2 cameras? Anyone know where you can buy one? I was told you have to get them from X10.com's support department?

Are there any aftermarket power supplies? 2000mA or 2 amps is a lot of current for such a little camera?

Thanks,

$0.02
You might be able to get by with a 1 or 1 and 1/2 amp switching supply. You did not say which AirSight camera you have, but if it has IR night illumination and pan & tilt, it can suck quit a bit of current at night with P&T use, especially if outside and weather is cold. However, you can find 5V 2amp supplies on eBay. It may not have proper size coaxial connector so some wire splicing may be needed.

This thread is looking for a power supply cord extension but it also has information on possible sources and the power connector size.

Hello Forum,

I found pretty much the exact same power supplies for my AirSight Outdoor wide angle lens IP camera available on eBay from $1.49 if you wish to order it from CHINA and wait 2-3 weeks and around $9.00 from someone in NJ who is selling them in the US, w/ free shipping. So if you are in the same boat I am in, no power, I suggest you try eBay.

Thanks,

Follow up report to purchase of a new 5V 2000mA power supply from NovaPCS in Brooklyn, NY via Ebay. Unit arrived and seems to be identical except for a smaller male power plug. Changed the plug to the one that came with the Airsight outdoors camera and the camera seems to be working just fine. Cost was $9.00 with shipping.
