Active Home Pro Registration
« on: March 17, 2014, 05:33:06 PM »

I've been using AHP to monitor a camera for many years now (since 2005).
All of a sudden, it pops up a message asking me for my registration codes.
Ok, I find them and put them in, but it fails to register.
I contacted support, and their response is:

"Dear Customer,

 Thank you for contacting us.

Activehome servers are currently offline. X10 WTI had this software hosted on dedicated servers. During X10 WTI's Bankruptcy, these servers were shut down, and a lot of the data was apparently lost. We are working with networking and database professionals to try to gather this broken data and to get ActiveHome back online. We are doing all we can to re-enable this software for past and future X10 customers."

Has anyone else experienced this, and has anyone heard of a fix, or update?

Thanks.

Ok, I'm seeing some other posts indicating that X10 went Bankrupt!
Well, what do we do now?

There are a few threads here on similar findings.
For the basic AHP you can use the European AHP and Tuicemen's Conversion program.
Unfortunately the plug ins for things like cameras are at presently unavailable.
The new owners are working on getting the servers back running after they had to quickly move them from the X10WTI location.
Hang in there until they get them working.

There were several discussions on this forum on how to deal with the problem.  One fix uses the European version of AHP, which doesn't require registration.  Then Tuicemen wrote a utility to adapt that version to the North American time zones.

I believe there also some discussions regarding the problem on the X10 Forum.  Use the search tool to find them.

The AHP camera setup doesn't work. The forwarding servers [addresses built into the software] are no longer working. The new owners of X10 may someday restore this (and other) AHP functions.... but not right now.

Back-in-the-day.... some users tried other 3rd party software for more dependable camera remote viewing like.... Blue Iris software.
