Can't get remotes to register with SC1200
« on: December 01, 2014, 09:13:51 PM »

I'm currently using a SC1200 with 4 door/window sensors and 3 KR10A remotes.

One of the KR10A remotes stopped working after I changed the batteries.  I ordered a new one off ebay, and tried to register it with the console.  I put the console to INSTALL, hit the ARM button, but nothing happens.  I'm now thinking that my remote that I believe stopped working actually works, but the console may be the issue.

Has anyone had a problem similar to this?  If so, how did you get the system to register remotes?

Thanks!

When you installed the batteries.
Did you initialize the KR10A first? By holding the ARM button until the RED LED flashed twice? When first power up or after a battery change. It may have lost its random security ID and had to be initialized to pick a new one.

If the original one now works. It will have a new security code and you may want to remove it from the SC1200. I believe the only way to remove a security Keyfob or remote. Is clear all of them out and register all of them again.

The X10 Wki no longer has the old KR10A manual available and its link to an outside web site is busted.
