Simplisafe triggering an X10 command
« on: December 27, 2014, 10:15:34 AM »

I have a Simplisafe home security system which I am happy with. However I've thinking about trying to have the Simplisafe base unit to trigger an X10 command perhaps through a Powerflash Interface that I can then have turn on certain lights if the alarm is activated.  -:) I know there is a phone jack on the Simplisafe base unit that could possibly be used to activate the powerflash but I'm wondering if anyone has already worked out how to and save me form having to figure it out myself. Thanks in advance.

Tried to find some information on the Simplisafe Security equipment. I finally found a manual in the FAQ area. I originally didn't see it in the support area.
Are you asking about the telephone style jacks on the base unit?

Brian, yes thanks for the reply. My idea was to use the phone jack out on the base of the Simplisafe base unit to trigger an x10 command through the use of a power flash interface, but if there's a better way to accomplish this I'd be interested.

I hope someone with the Simplisafe System maybe of some assistance.
I have no thoughts on what is on the phone jacks. I would think a circuit to create a off hook condition with the phone line it is connected to.

I found the Base Station in the FCC Database and will be giving it a look at.
The internal photos may give some added information.

http://transition.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid/
FCC Grantee: U9K
Product Code: -BS1000 {the - is the first character in the Product Code}
In the Details Tab.

Note. It is using a RF frequency of 315MHz. To send messages to the Keypad. X10 uses 310MHz and their receivers are not that selective. I doubt it would interfere with an X10 receiver but maybe a very remote chance.

The security modules send on 433.92MHz to a receiver in the Base Station.
