C15A Sending Wrong ON codes to some modules
« on: October 18, 2017, 07:44:40 PM »

Not an expert user, but have been using for years. I have a small setup in my home. The C15A is sending wrong codes to some modules. I replaced the modules, checked the batteries in the C15A, The module I am trouble shooting, works fine with the portable HR12A. I see the codes - below. But when I send (tap the AHP module) it sends the wrong code. (see codes below). Other modules work ok from C15A. Befuddled. Can anyone help.
Now while I was checking the codes for the background to my trouble I noticed that the AHP was sending extended codes for the ON but normal codes for OFF. In other words with the HR12A I can turn it on - A2 ON. and the AHP sends an A2 OFF and the module responds. BUT the ON command from the AHP sends an Extended code - see below.
Still mystified.

AHP ON Code - Send Extended Code 3e 31 (this does not turn on the lamp)

AHP OFF Code -Send Address A2               (this works if the lamp is on)
                       Send Off (A2)
HR12A ON Code - P Receive  RF A2 ON
                           P Receive  Address (A2)

Your module is configured wrong in AHP
The type needs to be configured as older lamps(non softstart)

Later Lamp Modules have a Soft Start feature.
That Extended X10 commands can control.
Older modules can't process the Extended X10 commands.
The last few revisions of AHP have two drop down lists for which type module you have.
I suspect you pick Lamp Modules in the drop down list that is now for Soft Start modules.
Tuicemen gave you the proper list for older modules.
If interested here is an X10 wiki information page. That may help.
