Hi folks,

You won't recognize me, although I've been a (very quiet) member for about 5 years. I've also been a constant, light x10 user for 30 years now. My request stretches back even further than that, so please forgive me!

I just obtained an apparently perfectly working Radio Shack (GE) Homeminder unit, for a pittance. I, of course, plan to do what I can to increase the cooling of the video IC, which, as I understand, is notorious for being the downfall of these. Now, my request:

Does anybody have a scan or copy of the owner's (instruction, or whatever it's called) manual for this device? I'd surely appreciate getting a copy of it. I've been all over the 'net, and can't find a blessed thing.

Can you find the Radio Shack part number on the unit? Maybe a 61-2673?
I searched for Homeminder and there where a few different kits under that name.
It sounds like you maybe asking about what looked like a video module.

FWIW I bought a couple of the Homeminders way back when. I may have the manual at home, but won't be back home until Monday, but will look for it then.

Thanks, Dave, but I've come across this, as well as a few others when I searched extensively on the 'net. Didn't really tell me anything that I didn't already know. I really want to get the owner's manual, though.

No, sorry. I looked and looked and did not find any Home Minder stuff. I found stuff I didn't know I had but no manuals for HomeMinder.

Back around '84 or '85 I bought a GE HomeMinder and excitedly set it up. It was a novel device but had some major shortcomings. One big problem is that it had no useful internal memory backup which meant setting up everything, including schedules, after any power loss - a major PITA. When the CP290 came out the HomeMinder went in the closet and, ultimately, the trash when we moved several years later.  From there I upgraded to the JDS TimeCommander in '94 and ultimately the JDS Stargate in'02 which I still use today in two homes along with XTB-IIR units.
  All that being said, I used to have the manual and schematics for the HomeMonder and may still have them in a box.  I will look and let you know if I find them.
