How long for Insteon?
« on: January 03, 2018, 12:11:59 AM »

Was at the local Menards today and they have a for sale sign on their Insteon display case and the Insteon stock appears low. Also was at Lowes before Christmas and they don't have Insteon anymore. I wonder if Insteon is in trouble(?). I don't know if Insteon was spun off from Smarthome, but hope they are not going down the tubes.

Richmond Capital Partners.
Has purchased Smartlabs Inc. Including their patents and Insteon products. Along with the Retail Smarthome division.
So far Smarthome shipping and stock warehouse are in a new location. For a short time during the move. Things where pretty messed up.
Customer Support is now a third party company.

Hopefully things will get better. I have a Universal Devices Inc. ISY994i controller.
The Smarthome 2413S PLM used with it. Has big power supply issues. Die at about 2.25 years old. Crappy caps of very questionable brands. We now rebuild ours. They spent thousands of dollars developing their own. With the promise they could get the needed firmware from them. Deal got back out of a few years ago by previous owners. They also never got the needed data on a few of the newer modules. So they also are not supported yet. Maybe the new owners will make thing better but my gut says no.
