Trouble Shooting: MT14A versus 61-2682B versus Smart*ss Meter

Chandler, AZ - I have the MT14A just arrived from Amazon, a very old Radio Shack 61-2682B Lamp Control module (with dimming), and, sad to say, a "Smart" Meter.

The old Appliance modules work well with the new MT14A.

The 61-268B does nothing on the same circuit.

I only have one of these, so I can't try swapping.

I have an O-Scope.

What can I do?

As a test.
Can you see if one of the appliance module will work in the same spot as the problem lamp module?

Sometimes the House and Unit Code dials in the modules can become intermittent. You may want to try and rotate then a few times and see if that makes any difference.

Do you have any phase coupling or repeater coupling between the two incoming lines?

I am not to sure how much you may see with a scope. The noise and X10 signals are riding on the 120VAC wave.
I used an X10Pro XPCP to isolate the line from the scopes input. Since the XPCP has two isolated line inputs and an X10 coupling network between the two inputs. The 120VAC was not a problem.

ELA over on the UDI Forums made a nice scope adapter. It used an ACT CP000. I used an XPCP and is seemed to work fine also.
