Some modules work OK with
« on: April 24, 2005, 01:52:24 PM »

I have a very small cottage with seven
modules. Problem is I have one receptacle
module and one lamp module that won't
operate using ActiveHome. The five other
modules, which are 3 wall switch modules,
one transceiver module and 1 appliance
module work just fine. All 7 modules work
fine with a model HR12A remote control.

Anybody have any clues why the receptacle
and the lamp module won't respond to
ActiveHome commands ?

I had a smilar problem with a couple of
receptacles in my home.  I purchased a
"passive coupler" that connects across my
220v line and the problem was solved.  I hear
of some that purchase a coupler/repeater but
in a home less than 2500 sf it may not be
necessary.  You can purchase "plug-in" units
that plugs into a dryer connection or the
wired unit like I have.  I used the wired
unit $19.00 and put it in a receptacle box
and wired it directly across a 220v breaker
in a nearby panel.  Works fine for me.
