CM15 Reception / Distance
« on: November 29, 2005, 04:15:27 AM »

My CM15A can receive RF signals from a remote
in adjacent rooms, but not on the other side
of the house or upstairs.  Is there any way
to boost the reception?

X10 makes an RF repeater but I have no
information on how well it works. The cm15a
interface is not known for long distance RF
receiving. Try the antenna Horizontal
sometimes that helps. Also I have done an
antenna mod thet adds great distance, but
kills the warantee. Found on:
www.accessha.com
Others have used a third party all house
code receiver in place of the cm15a's
receiver.

The range with the stick on wall switches is
about 6 foot (at best) with my CM15A - almost
useless. I have to use TM751 transceivers all
over the house!

Bob; I have seen mods for the switches that
adds a passive radiator near the switch to
add distance. I too had real bad dsitances
untill I did the 'kill the warantee'
external antenna mod.
