VA11A annoyance
« on: April 15, 2005, 01:00:27 AM »

I am using a DELL laptop WinXP Pro/SP2, AHP
3.185 with all plug-ins. I find that I
can't attach the VA11A while the computer
is suspended or turned off. The VA11A has
to be attached to a particular USB port
before it will be recognized. The first
time that I attach the VA11A, it will
always ask to install the appropriate
drivers even though they have already been
installed previously. If I dis-connect the
VA11A and then re-attach it then things
will work OK. AHP does not reset things if
the VA11A is connected while it is up and
running but will if it is restarted as long
as XP recognizes the interface is connected.

Donald: Is this on a hub or docking station,
or directly into ports on the laptop? If you
start up the laptop with the VA11A connected,
is it listed under Imaging Devices in Device
Manager?

This is with the VA11A connected directly
to the computer. If I do a cold boot with
th VA11A onnected then I get the "Found New
Hardware Wizzard" running - if I cancel it
and unplug the VA11A and re-connect it then
the computer will recognize it and there is
no problem. A check of the Control
Panel/System does not indicate that an
Imaging Device is connected until after the
dis-connect/re-connect - it does indicate
an unknown USB Device is connected but that
there was a problem with the drivers not
being loaded.

I tried the plug-unplug with no effect.

I have been trying to my cameras to work.
os XP Prof, s2 desktop.  At the bottom of
the AH pro pane I see a camera with a red
circle with a slash indicating Video not
connected.

It is connected and is listed under imaging
device: X10 VA11A, etc.  Properties shows
the X10' is located under Intel PC Pro.

Sound, Video & games lists the WDM the same
listing.

USB controller lists it as Intel PC Pro
under properties it shows the mfg as X-10,
but located as above.

Is this the correct way they should be
listed under Device Manager?  What do I try
next?

It is a bug within IWitness, as long as you
don't see this on the main AHP window you
will be fine. Don't worry about it.

I have the same issue trying to get the
VA11A to work. Everytime I unplug it and
plug it in I get the Intel PC Pro driver
installed. I have looked High and Low on
this site and can not find the AHP VA11A
driver. Can anyone help me find the VA11A
Driver on this site?

Thanks, I have tried this but the drivers
for ActiveHome are for the old software and
the VA11A drivers don't mention support for
AHP (just For XRay Vision, MultiView,
WebView, PanTilt Pro and ShowTime) and
didn't have a positive outcome when I tried
it. I am having a real difficult time
trying to get anything that references AHP
on this site. Maybe it is just too new.

I appreciate you assistance.
