Save and Cancel Buttons
« on: November 14, 2004, 01:33:48 PM »

One suggestion I’d like to make is Save and
Cancel buttons for the Macro and Timer
modules. Currently, when you add a Macro or
Timer, the module is automatically created.
So if you decide not to use it, you have to
drag the module to the trash and delete it.
A simple “Cancel” button would resolve
this. Additionally, I’ve forgotten to click
on the File menu and Save sometimes after
creating a module, loosing my Macro/Timer
settings.

Auto:

I've noticed a movement toward "live update"
thinking in computer interfaces.  Well,
Windows anyway.  This may be coming from
Microsoft alone, or maybe it's an industry
direction, I don't know.  But, for what it's
worth, it's clear that Microsoft intends to
head toward an interface where everything you
do takes effect instantly and you can back
out changes with an "Undo" function if
desired.  This would eliminate the
Save/Cancel scenario that you're asking for.

Of course, it won't work in my opinion and is
going to create all hell in the computer
industry if this paradigm is adopted, but
that would be the subject of a different
thread entirely.
