ATTN: X10 PRO CM15A USB driver no Standby
« on: December 09, 2004, 11:51:50 AM »

ATTN: X10 PRO

Windows XP informs me that the USB driver
for the Cm15A will not allow it to enter
standby mode. This is ridiculous as all my
other USB items will allow standby mode.

Any plans to fix this problem in the near
future ?

Thanks

Tom

Similar issue with Win98SE on my laptop--
although Win98SE doesn't complain about it
and happily goes into standby, upon  resume
AHP says that there is no USB connection to
the CM15A, and the laptop needs to be
shutdown & restarted before communciations
between AHP & CM15A can be resumed.

This is a 8 year old topic, what does the OP mean by sleep?

Dan; There are options in the Operating System to allow the computer to go into a low power standby, sleep or hibernate.
Some device don't allow this to happen. I am thinking AHP maybe one of them as it may want computer access for macros and timers.

The cm15a won't prevent Windows 7 from going into sleep mode.
Nor prevent it from coming out of sleep mode.
However if AHP was open prior to going into sleep it will need to be closed then reopened before it can communicate with the CM15A.
The same for any thirdparty software that uses the CM15A via the SDK.
Since X10 no longer distributes the CM15A I don't see this changing. :(

I'm using Windows 7 and do not use the Sleep setting.  My PC that has AHP on it is on 24/7/365 (366 in leap years, like 2012)   It only gets turned off for reboots, which shuts off  X10nets.exe so then AHP does not show modules status even if the X10 controlled lights are on.
