Software Uninstall Procedure Needed
« on: January 23, 2005, 11:42:12 AM »

I need a COMPLETE procedure for removal of
the ActiveHome Pro application. With all the
problems reported here, I would be surprised
if one did not exist. I need a
procedure that steps down to the registry
level to get rid of ALL elements of this
installation. I have had difficulties with
this installation since I initially
downloaded it and would like to start from
scratch.  I have original ActiveHome
application installed also and would like a
procedure that only takes out the buggy Pro
version. Email requests to the support
organization (qty 2) have gone
unanswered. I'm hoping that the user base has
an answer, since X10 does not have the
ability (or desire) to respond.

Not too easy as it doesn't have a removal
tab in add/remove or in it's own folder.

ActiveHome Pro should show up in Windows
Add/Remove Programs. Using that will
uninstall the ActiveHome Pro files. It will
not remove the X10 shared components, or
erase registry entries that are created after
installation by AHP. If are using AHP on a
Windows 2000 or XP computer, you probably
want to stop and turn off the X10 Device
Network Service beforehand.

Registry entries for X10 software don't
affect your system if you remove the programs.

You can remove the X10 shared components by
deleting the \Program Files\Common Files\X10\
directory and sub-directories.

X10 Pro;
OK my error. It is there now. Maybe it was
from a previous install of an older version
or I am just going blind? My cm15a is in the
box as it refuses still to run more than a
day or two without it stoping to send timed
events. Still does RF tranceiving, just no
times.

My C15A won't connect with the USB port.  I
have called x10 several times, no fix yet.
Any Ideas? Have had no luck with x10
answering my e-mails.

PB: What do you mean it won't connect to the
USB port? When you plug it in does it not
show up correctly? If you look at Device
Manager under USB Controllers how is it listed?
