My CM15A isn't working properly
« on: February 11, 2005, 07:18:46 PM »

I have had consistent problems with the CM!
5A interface.  Every couple of days, it
stops communicating.  I try to load timers
and macros, it hangs.  I try to run
commands from AHP, they don't work.
Please e-mail me to arrange for a
replacement unit.
Thank You.

I'm not sure if you need a replacement But
don't let me stop you! there are a lot of
issues with the Cm15a most are software
related as appears to be your case. I've
tried the software on XP and win98SE what
works on xp won't on 98. I get failures of
one degree or another on 98. I'm not sure
which version AHP you have.Have you tried to
revert to an older version 3.175 seemed to
work the best on my 98 machine(I still had
some probs).Version 3.179 lasted a week
before it failed. I find the newer version
of Windows you have the fewer problems
you'll have.

Tuicemen has good advice  I do agree..
I have not used AHP on WinME.  Am only
running XP Pro here but things may change.  I
have an 18 module, 8 macro, 7 timer system
going right now and had loads of trouble last
week (Thu and Fri ) after introducing a macro
that contained conditions of "time between" ,
flags and dim commands etc... Conversed with
X10Pro on several e-mails and we left the
CM15A on the computer (USB plugged in) and I
have not had any trouble all weekend.  It has
run  for approx 72 hours now without fail.  I
am running ver 3.179.  Not sure how long the
CM will hold out as I am going to expand it
more today with some conditionals.  I use
Monitored House code C. Tranceived house
codes are set to " specific" B, C, D and now
E also.  Flags are used on C coded modules
and I avoid using flags 1, 15 and 16.

Thanks for the advice.  I'll try to work
through the issues and wait for later
releases that hopefully fix the problems.
I'm running 3.179 on Win XP Home, Service
Pack 2.  I am running on a laptop, maybe
that has something to do with this.  I keep
the USB connected, but I do shut the
machine down at night.  I'll be building a
machine to dedicate to automation,
hopefully that will help.
