Ask for help = CRASH
« on: July 10, 2005, 10:28:20 PM »

I have version 3.187. EVERYTIME I do the
following sequences the program crashes.

Tools - Find Other Computers - Help
Tools - Hardware Configuration - Help
Tools - Activity Monitor - Help - Contents

Does this happen only on my machine
(running Win XP media center) or is it bug
in AHP 3.187?

FredM
It appears to be a bug.  Same thing happens
for me using XPPro, SP1.

Help -> Contents [works]

All three conditions listed by FredM [fail].

I have Windows 2000 Pro SP4+ w/AHP 3.187
installed. Same problems here. Repeatable
every time.

"ActiveHm.exe has generated errors and will
be closed by Windows..."

Help -> Contents works, all others crash.

We're working on this here. For any of you
seeing this problem: do you have any AHP
plug-ins installed?

I don't have any plug-ins installed and
still get the problem with w/AHP 3.187.

We've identified a problem, and have it fixed
in our code. This should be part of the next
update.

On top of the three FredM mentions, add
these.

I have "Smart Macros", and these crash the
software too,

Plug-ins - Smart Macros - About - Help =
CRASH

Plug-ins - Smart Macros - Enable Show
SmartMacro Wizard for New Macros, then
Plug-ins - Create Smart Macros - Help =
CRASH

I had the previous version of AH (the CM11A
that was flaky and finally croaked, try to
get a replacement). I thought that I'd try
this "upgrade", but from what I read in
these forums..............

I've had this new sw/hw for just over a
week, an upgrade allready and still
problems ?!?! -> if X10 doesn't fix these
sofware problems soon (within 10 days), it
will strike three, the crap goes back and
I'll be supporting another vendor's product.

Don't ya just love paying for the
priviledge of being their BETA TESTERS!

those cases you mentioned also.

Wireman: Download the update installer
directly using the following link.

http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/activehome/ahp_updt.exe

The problem you're having shouldn't happen
for the next update.
