X10 FloodCam... can you see anything at night?

When your flood lights turn on, can you see
anything on your floodcam? I realize these
cameras are not good in low light
situations but I get nothing except for two
little white spots and a black screen.
Shouldn’t the spot lights provide enough
illumination to see a little bit?

I guess it depends on how far away is the
closest thing that will reflect light. If
you've got the Flood-Cam looking kind-of far-
out, like into a field where there may not
be anything to reflect much light, you won't
see anything...
I've got a Flood-Cam on one end of my front
porch which is the same length as the front
of the house, say 40 feet. When it comes-on
at night, the other end of the porch hardly
gets sufficient lighting from the one
floodlight to see the end of the porch.
The same went for my tool shed in the back
yard. I've got a flood-Cam on a corner of
the house watching the shed which is about
20-25 feet away. The one flood wasn't realy
enough light to get a good image of the
shed, so I installed a regular flood on a
stanchion above the shed door that has an X-
10 switch addressed the same as the Flood-
Cam. With the combined 600 watts worth of
light, it is plenty. I hope this is of help.

I have the motion sensor on my floodcam
turn on all my outside lights. Which I have
enough to melt my siding, and can see just
fine. Without extra light the camera does
not see very well at night.

The first Floodcam I bought had good night
vision - I could see the back of the house
about 20 feet away [Floodcam was mounted on
the garage].  So I ordered a set of three
Floodcams and the night vision on all of
them was almost zero. I mounted them one by
one in place of the original Floodcam which
had stopped working and none of them showed
anything at night. The only thing I could
see was a small dot of light from the
floodlights being reflected off a window..
I even added an extra set of floodlights
which gave some vision but not enough to
recognize anything.
