Receiver or Camera defective?
« on: October 20, 2005, 04:40:58 PM »

I just received the wireless starter kit w/
the ninja, motion sensor, vcr commander and
video receiver. After hooking it up to my
TV's AV input and turning it on, without the
camera plugged in my tv says Unusable Signal,
which basically indicates the receiver is
sending absolutely nothing to the TV. Once I
plug in the camera (same w/ battery pack) The
screen flickers and pops for a split second
and stays on Unusable Signal. If I turn off
the receiver and turn it back on, the screen
is black with wavy white horizontal bars for
a second, and then back to Unusable Signal. I
have everything set to A-1. I have the
receiver a mere 5 feet from the camera. Does
anyone know if the video receiver actually
sends a signal to the TV at all times, or
only when a camera is "active"? I am unsure
how to tell which of the two components is
causing the problem. Any suggestions?

All the time. No signal from the camera and
you get snow. Did you double check that the
camera and receiver are on the same channel?
There are 4 channels on the camera under the
little rubber button A-D and the receiver on
the bottom also labeled A-D.
Do you have any 2.4 Ghz cordless phones or
wireless networks? If so try turning them
off and see if the problem goes away. Both
are known to scramble X10 Camera signals.
