How do I disable the annoying alarm on the
control panel and use it it silent mode as
a dialer only?

Hes probably referring to the Protector Plus or the
Monitor Plus system, since those are the only two
systems that have a dialer.  There is no way to
really silence the alarm,  The only way you can do
that is, to open up the unit and disconnect either
the black or red wire to the piezo siren.  Round
gold looking thing.  do it in a way that if you want
to use it again you just have to twist the wires
together and put some electrical tape around it.
This will void warrantee.  Good Luck

Exactly Phil. Would be nice to have a silent
mode on both models like the more
sophisticated systems have. Easier to catch
a thief in the act.

I finally got my Protector Plus installed.
I have not yet figured out how to open it
to disconnect the alarm but other wise I am
very pleased with it.  I am very impressed
with the quick dial time.  I usually have a
call within 5 seconds.  I do wish it had a
little better range, I have one sensor that
barely makes it back to the control unit.
I actually had to relocate the control unit
a few feet to make it work.
