Flood light won't turn off
« on: September 05, 2005, 06:13:05 PM »

I have had an X10 flood light on my shed
for three years with it working perfect.
Then one night it came on and wouldn't go
off, no matter what I did.  I then replaced
it with a new one out of the box that I had
sitting on a shelf.  It worked as expected
and then the same thing occurred after
installed for two days.  Anyone have any
ideas or suggestions.  Thanks

The same thing happened to me, mine is a
week old, the only way it works right is if
I only use 1 bulb in it, then it shuts off.
If I use 2 bulbs, it never shuts off, even
stays on during the daytime. Going to call
tech support about it.

Hey Dave, and Stu you might want to check
the wattage on your flood lamps it calls
for max. of 150 watts but try 65 watts and
see what happends.

I found that you can't have the bulbs too
close to the motion senser, the heat from
the bulbs can trip it and keep it on.
Remember they detect heat, not real movement.

I do not have a flood litgh but!
I did read that the type of ligth bulb you
use is important not only the rating in
watt... If the light do not close throught
x-10 command after been ligth up say 3 min
it could be that the type of inner ligth
bulb when hot prevent x-10 command to pass
trought and that is the case with halogen
bulbe. It will work for few time and then
stop open or whont come on untill cool down.

also did you try the guide in the
throubleshooting section they are speaking
about the fact that if you power unit and
internally it whas remembering being on
before...It will stay on untill a full
cycle day dusk or untill control througth x-
10...
