Arming with keychain remote question.
« on: October 21, 2005, 09:48:29 AM »

I'm thinking of purchasing a Protector Pro (DS7000)
system, but I'm puzzled as why the keychain remotes
can't arm the system in DELAY mode.

If I'm reading the manual correctly, it indicates that the
keychain remote can only arm the system in INSTANT
mode.  So if I'm leaving the house and want to arm it first,
I cannot use the Keychain remote because when I open the
door to leave, I'll trip the alarm.  I'm assuming the RF
range isn't good enough the arm the system from the
doorstep.

If I have this straight, I'd have to arm the system in DELAY
mode on the console or the handheld remote, and then
hide the remote somewhere and leave the house in 1min
30 seconds.  This just doesn't make sense to me.

Can someone who has the system please clarify?
Thanks.
