Can anyone write me a control program?
« on: January 25, 2006, 05:55:33 PM »

I have not got ahcmd to run.  I need to make
a list of all rooms and their SR227s and be
able to turn them on any off.  Then publish
a report of the current status of each
switch.  This is for the TV control system
that I've installed in our local hospital as
a volunteer. We now use a 270 controller
which are no longer available.  The CM -15a
does the job, but the Active home pro
software is too quitsy for this application
and doesn't have a present status report.
Can't seem to get through to X-10 support.

Hello Rich,

I read this post and had some thoughts then
read your other post. Have you been able to
get the command line executable to work? If
not, the advice you were given was correct.

If you are looking for a way to automate
the use of the executable you could setup
batch files or (as per my original
thoughts) take a peek at Automate (no pun
intended). I have used this program for
years to do many different things. It's
very intuitive and very powerfull:

Good luck to you...

Rich,

I might be able to come up with something.
I am not familiar with a "270".  E-mail me
and tell me about the old program.  What
was the user-interface like?  What kind of
logging and/or reporting did it do?  Are
the modules you're using two-way (i.e. do
they support a status request command)?

Don't guarantee anything, but I might be
willing to try.

In the real world, the only constant is change.

When I'm online you can find me in the Home Automation Chat Room!

Thanks for the offer.

doesn't carry them any more?

The CK11A kit includes the CM11A:

Some X-10 dealers carry the CM11A by itself, but it's usually not much cheaper than the kit.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.
