Really I didn't plan it this way.

I use HC "H" for several miscellaneous items that don't really fit in other categories and that are primarily controlled by macros and not directly. Having already used HC "H1" for the towel heater, I used the next code "H2" for the hot water pump. (Circulates hot water to the back of the house. http://www.chilipepperapp.com/Default.htm) So now the water is pumped when I send an "H2 On" for the H2O.  ;D

steven r,

I took a look at that hot water pump, for an application in my house.  I have one question, by using the cold water as a return, doesn't the  cold water become warm?  I was just thinking about if I wanted to get a glass of water.

Not really a problem because it only pumps water till it detects where you've set it.
Well maybe if you try to fill your glass at the same time.  :)
Unless you try to get your cold water during the same few seconds that the pump is running from the same sink it's unlikely you'll ever notice it, however. I have mine set on the highest setting which means it pumps till it detects the highest temperature so it runs a few seconds longer. It only takes a couple seconds for cold to become cold again. Since the purpose of it for most people is to prime the water for the shower and most people mix some cold water with the hot, the cold line is cleared almost immediately. The only other way to do something like this would be a dedicated return line to the hot water heater. That option for most people is cost prohibitive and not an option at all for me as I have a slab base for my home.
I drooled over this product for some time before I purchased it but haven't regretted having it one bit.
