Xcam Nightwatch solution
« on: August 25, 2006, 05:23:49 PM »

I had been having the same problems with the Nightwatch not being able to see well at night (or not at all), without a light on. Well I researched about other night cameras with IR LED's that allow the camera to see in low-light. Those cameras work great but these x10 cams don't because they don't have IR LED's to supplement the light that it can see.

I have my camera in my backyard and it can't see anything unless my huge street-like garage light is on, which defeats the point of being able to see at night.
I found a site that makes/sells IR light bulbs in different types and sizes and I bought a IR bulb and I put it in my garage light. You can't see it when it's on but the camera can! I can see my enitre backyard now through the x10 camera!
