Title: wall switct modual Internal switch
Post by: karl mikkelsen on May 17, 2005, 10:56:42 AM
I have some older wall switch moduals, the
internal switch contacts are very fragile
and have broken and can only be controlled
via remote control. have they been
improved.  I have not installed my X10
system in my new home in Florida. I plan to
update the system and also install Install a
vidio system. In New York I Installed
systems for the handicapped and would like
to continue this busness in Florida.

Karl:  I don't think the design of the wall switch has changed in a long time.  You can replace the internal switch contacts with a surface mount switch, which should be more reliable than the original one.  The procedure for doing this can be found at: http://www.idobartana.com/hakb/modifying_wall_switch.htm#Replacing the button (http://www.idobartana.com/hakb/modifying_wall_switch.htm#Replacing the button).  I hope <BR>this helps.
