vt38A Installation help
« on: December 15, 2010, 11:30:23 AM »

I have installed the VT38A and UX23A and the RT751 and the SC546A.

RT751 is set to D
SC546 is set to D4
UX23A is set to D6
I also Have a macro set to D5 - set up to test the system

The camera works great - can see it turn-on on the TV, but that is it.
Nothing else works except the macro, which activates the chime and the transceiver to turn a light on.

It seems that the camera turning on is not being sensed by the other units.

Am I missing something???

Could you tell us what you want to happen and what is not happening?
SC546 Chime Module. Is it supposed to chime when the camera starts or motion is detected?
The VCR Commander II is it working or not turning on and off the VCR?

Sorry -

This is what happens.

1) VT38A senses movement (D3)- light turns on (if night) and camera turns on.

2) VR36A receives signal and image is displayed on TV.

THIS IS THE END OF WHAT IS HAPPENING

I think this is what suppose to happen.

1) VT38A senses movement (D3) - light turns on (if night) and camera turns on.

MACRO triggered by (D3) via AHP starts and

2) VR36A (D) receives signal and image is displayed on TV.

3) RT751 (D) starts RECORD mode on VHS

4) SC546A (D4) chimes via macro.

5) LIGHTS IN THE FRONT ROOM (B1) and (A1) come on for 2 minutes. via macro.

NOTE:

The macro works because:

1) Step 4 and 5 work.

WHAT IS NOT WORKING IS:

1) Step 3 and the macro.

Hope this helps as I thought this would be a simple installation.

P.S. - What triggers the  RT751 and how?

Thanks

Dave

I can not find the part number RT751 even searching the cross reference charts and google searching.
I have a feeling it maybe a Retail TM751.
A TM751 would receive any RF signal on D where it is set and place an X10 signal on the power line.
If the macro is being triggered by the D3 On signal from the VT38A via the power line. The RT751/TM751 would be the module placing the D3 RF signal on the power line.

The VCR commander is triggered by an RF signal. What device is sending the D6?
Is your macro is triggered by the D3 On from the VT38A and it is then sending an RF D6 On to trigger the UX23A?

You mentioned macros. So you have AHP and which interface the CM15A or the CM19A?

Later revisions of AHP support the UX23A. Is that where you set the D6 address?

OOPS

The

3) UX23A (D) starts RECORD mode on VHS

and I have a CM15A with is attached to the PC.  The PC is dedicated to the CM15 and is always on.

What triggers the UX23A?

Thank you for your assistance and I am sorry for the confusion on what device is where.

Do you have anything sending a D6 On?
If the UX23A is set to D6 either a motion sensor signal {VT38A has an RF sender} or an RF signal from the CM15A would have to be used.
Is the macro triggered by the D3 On from the VT38A?
If the macro is triggered by the D3 On is it sending the D6 On to the UX23A?

Do you have any other X10 software in the mix?
What revision of AHP are you running and do you have any of the optional plugins?

Brian

Does the UX23A capture both the house code (D) and the unit code (3) of the motion code when the following is done or just the house code? That is assuming that the motion detector is setup to match the code of the VT38A (D3).

Instructions for setting up the UX23A step 5.

Press the HOUSE button on the motion
sensor. The red light on the VCR Commander
will go out. This motion sensor will now start
your VCR Commander..........

Thanks

When you push the House Botton it sends the address of both the House Code and Unit code with an On from what I have seen in the manual.
So if the sensor is on D3 the UX23 will also triggger on D3.
