Title: Is RCA HC50RX and RR501 the same or interchangeable?
Post by: Hawaiiduo on August 31, 2014, 09:53:03 PM
Hi,  I have use the RR501 for years.  it's broken.  I think RCA HC50RX is cheaper.  Would the RCA works for my system?

Thanks

RCA discontinued their Home Control Systems years ago.
If you find one even in a new package. It will be old stock.

I could not find much on the HC50RX.
Found a description on an Amazon web page. One difference is it is Hard Wired to Unit Code 1 for the internal appliance relay. The RR501 has a switch for 1 or 9. It appears to be similar to the RR501 function wide.

Both the RR501 and X10Pro PAT01 where redesigned a few years back. So they would have more up to date electronics.

I found a thread here that may give you added information.

Thanks, that was very helpful.  I will spend a little more on RR501.
