A learning remote with same features as
UR74A -PLUS- an aditional button to switch
between house codes. Then add an LCD display
that would show the houscode selected. The
forum did say wish list. Is this a realistic
dream X10 for multi-house codes users?
-
Probably not at this time. Way too many
alligators to be worrying about draining the
swamp.
-
Okay then how about removing one of the
gators from the swamp by giving us a snap in
button for the HR12A. On Ebay I saw an old
Leviton remote control that is identical to
the HR12A that had this snap in button. I
don't believe this will hurt your sales of
remote controls as many of us X10 users
already hot glue washers or similar un-
attractive items into the house code switch
making the HR12A more user friendly.
-
You won't see any of these improvements. X10
would be afraid of losing too much money on
the outrageous number of remotes you now
need fot there products.
-
Since it is a wish list, how about a more
specific differentiation in pulse code
between the hardwirded interface and
the 'firecracker' RF XCVR for multiple
masking - so you can open a duplicate shell
for each macro set for the respective house
code.
Upon careful analysis of the transmitted
sync pulse, this may even be possible. This
would be a completely new direction in
development. This may tie into one of the
other discussions about triggering a macro
with a macro or multiplexing the individual
hardware functions (similar to parallel
poting).
It is food for though anyway.
Cheers, Ian M.

Does anyone know where you might be able to
order switch knobs that could be used on the
HR12A remote house code switch?
-
There are knobs available BUT the companies
that sell them charge a LOT for shipping -
more than the knobs are worth. I can't find
the info for them from either here or on
www.accessx10.com, maybe you could. There
are 2 companies that are selling them - i
believe that they are available in a bulk
package in either black or red colors.
-
They are called "X10 Code Clickers." I did
a Google on it and found three vendors. I
seem to remember the first one charged
about $60 S&H (I might be wrong though). I
don’t know about the other two. The links

Regardless, I think we should all e-mail
SmartHome and ask for them to start
carrying them. The more people who do so,
the better the chance they will carry
them. The link to do that is:
