Title: Home Genie Sensors Widget Shows Tamper
Post by: LostDog88 on October 27, 2018, 06:40:05 PM
Why do some of my sensors show a tamper in black letters below the status of the sensor? They work fine, they all have covers and they covers are closed...

Do you know what their part number is? There where new models when the SC1200 was being sold.

Security sensors. I know they check in about every hour. If it was four hours and no check in. Would generate a problem zone indication if check in was missed continuously.

The Tamper was as you expected the sensor cover was opened or not tightly closed.

They are DS12A's. They have covers. The covers are on and tight.
I don't know about the checking in part. I just noticed this all happening a couple days ago.
I know if I open a door the SC1200 chimes immediately.
One time I had one that had a problem with it's cover. Cats...long story I won't bore you with, but it had a tamper warning in the widget that was bright red instead of black.........???

Thanks for the update.
If the SC1200 is not showing a Tamper or Zone problem. The DS12A sensors are probably OK.
Since I don't use or have HG. I don't have any idea what the indication means.

Could black mean OK while red means TAMPER?

That is exactly what I thought.

But not all sensors show the word "tamper"?????
