How to start AHP when Windows XP starts?
« on: June 25, 2011, 12:25:44 AM »

How can I get AHP to startup when my PC powers up? I would like it to start even if I don't logon, in case someone else restarts the PC.
Thanks!

Have you tried putting the configuration file you want AHP to load in the common users startup folder?

What you need running is the X10Net service.  If you check in control panel under "Administrative Tools" and then double click services.  Scroll down to the bottom and find "X10 Device Network Service".  Look to see that the startup type is set to Automatic.  If that is all set correctly, then I believe you are OK.  Also make sure that the AHP shortcut isin the "All Users" startup folder in the start menu.

Some of the newer plugins require that AHP is open, not just having the x10nets service running.
There is no way to open AHP without having an account log in first.

With a bit more looking at the issue, I believe Noam is correct.  For certain things to work, you would have to have AHP running.  I personally run a dedicated HA PC that automatically logs into a single user account whenever the machine is started.  From there I have all of my HA programs load at startup (e.g. AHP, Weather Aloud, BVC, BlueWatch, etc...)
