Title: Can't stop alarm after it triggers!
Post by: frontshadow on September 16, 2015, 04:00:03 PM
Hello forum...

I'm a newbie to X10. A couple of weeks ago I picked up an older X10 console (Ps561 I think) and some devices.

I downloaded the manuals for about everything, reviewed them and installed the system while testing. I've
managed to get everything running according to the instructions/manuals with the exception of turning off
(disarming) the alarm after it has been triggered. Try as I may with either of two remotes or a FOB, the console
just keeps beeping away (along with the remote siren) for the full 4 minutes.....then stops. The console reports
the zone of the alarm trigger and seems to do everything else right (that I have tried with the window/door, PIR,
Sirens, etc....)....expect that I cannot not turn off the alarm. I'm am attempting to use the remotes, using
the DISARM button(s)......nothing happens.....Please, what am I missing?

Thanks in advance to someone, anyone..... -:)

Have you installed all the remotes and flobs  so the console recognizes them?

Thanks for the reply....I have two remotes and one fob.
All have been installed and seem to work OK
(all can ARM/DISARM) the system unless it unless triggered by a zone (have two window/door sensors
Set up for testing). After the console siren starts to sound and lights flash, I cannot stop the alarm
With any remote nor from console. To totally clear the
System I have to remove the battery, AC power and let sit
For a few min????

If the Zone that was violated LED is flashing.
Try the Troubleshooting tip on page 25 of the manual. Try Arm then Disarm.
