Title: SocketRocket Lamp Modules & Active Eye Motion Sensors
Post by: rhea on November 28, 2006, 10:10:13 PM
Does ANYBODY knows how to couple up SocketRocket Lamp Modules  and Active Eye Motion Sensors to work together?
I would like to have the Active Eye to turn on  and off my outdoor lights (dawn-dusk)?

First... Socket Rocket gets signals on the power line... Eagle Eye sends signals with RF (radio)... so you need a transceiver that can receive the RF signal and put it on the power line.  Do you have anything like that?

Like bill said, you need something to take the message from the Active Eye and convert to a signal the SocketRocket will understand.  the "transceiver"

The activehome motion sensor can do that, but the dusk to dawn feature is set (by default) off. You can view the directions here (http://software.x10.com/pub/manuals/ms15a-ms16a-is.pdf)

It will (as an example) detect motion on house code A1, and dusk to dawn on A2.

You will need a transceiver (or similar device) to change the activehome sensors RF signal to X10 eletric-line signal.

the socket rocket is programed by activating it's ON code (in this example A2) three times. A remote control comes is handy for this. However it can also be done with your activehome motion sensor.
