Timer will not turn On Modules?
« on: February 05, 2012, 08:18:50 PM »

Hi Everyone, new to the forum however I have been using x10 since July 2009.

Using CM15A and 5 - WS467's to turn on exterior lights. All are set under one room, no macro's used.

All had worked well until JAnuary of this year when two stopped.

Updated to 3.318, have searched the forum but can find answer to my issue.

1. When connected to CM15 I can command lights "All On" and "All Off".
2. Configured models to "Older Lamps (no SoftStart)
3. Set timers to "On at Dusk", off at 11:00pm.
4. If I command all on via Active Home Pro and wait until 11:00pm the turn off correctly?
5. Checked activity log and see "No Command On"???

Any suggestions?  B:( B:( B:(

Sounds like your Dusk/Dawn settings might not be correct.
Make sure your time and time zone are correct in Windows, and then make sure your location is set correctly in AHP.
Then, check the Dusk/Dawn tables in AHP, to make sure they are correct for your location.

If that doesn't work, you might try backing up your AHX file, and re-creating it.

Thank you for the reply Noam,

Here is a screen shoot of my timer settings:

Im not sure what you mean by re-creating it? Do I back it up, then delete it out of CM15/Active Home Pro?

Sorry if it is a dumb question...  ;D

You didn't forget to download the macros after you changed the module type, did you?  I'm not trying to be a smart a$$, but I 've done this a few times and wondered why macros weren't working.......

What happened at 5:30, and what happened at 11:00?
What do you see around those two times when you look in the Activity Monitor?
Are you keeping the CM15A connected to the PC the whole time?

Noam,

At 5:30pm, nothing happens. I check the active monitor and it show no commands!

if I either manually turn the lights or command via software/direct connected to the CM15 they turn off at 11 every time!

My CM15 is not connected to the PC the entire time. I plug into the outlet that has always worked (have moved it around before) and update/upload timers etc.

The Activity Monitor can only show activity that happens while the CM15A is plugged into the PC, and the PC is running. The CM15A does not store any command history when it is disconnected from the PC.

With the CM15A connected, manually turn them on from the AHP software, and then look to see what is in the Activity Monitor.
You'll need to leave the CM15A connected to the PC during the time that the dusk dimers should activate. Compare what those commands look like in the Activity Monitor.

Have you tried setting the "on" timers to a specific time (like 5:45 PM, for example), as a test? some people reported problems with dusk/dawn timers not always working right for them (although I've never had an issue with them).

Thanks again Noam.

Noam,

Sat and watch dusk roll up (5:30pm my local) and "zero" activiaty.

Waited 1min and then hit "all light on" and they call came on and I could see that activity take place on the monitor.

I will try another "time format"  as you suggested.

Also, they will all go off at 11:00pm which is how I set the timer........ strange!

Looking at your two pics, I notice the 5:30 time on both is greyed out, which means it won't turn on.

Dan, that would be greyed out because the setting is for dusk. It's greyed out because you cannot change it unless you unset the dusk setting.

Although my explanations may not be exactly clear, I do hope for slightly less cloudy.

Hi Dan, after reading your reply late last night I went in and changed the "On Time" to 5:32pm (instead of On at Dusk).

Called home tonight to see if the lights were on and No Go  :'(
