I was given a XC36A camera along with the disk. I am running Windows 10 with Chrome browser (although I have IE and Edge on my computer). I do not have a router so the camera Ethernet cable is plugged directly into my computer. I have been able to get IP Camera Tool to recognize the camera. It shows up as anonymous with the web address http://192.168.1.126 (which I assigned) When I click on basic properties it finds the correct mac id along with System Firmware 17.36.2.41 and Web UI version 20.8.1.99.
However I can not get Chrome or Edge or IE to access the video when I enter http://192.168.1.126
"About IP Camera Tool" shows IP Camera tool Version: 0,1,1,1
IP Camera ActiveX control version: 0,0,0,36
VLC Media Player version: can not find
I never saw and do not know how to access the menu that lets you choose ActiveX, Server Push Mode, VLC mode, etc.
Any ideas?

In the camera tool what happens if you double click on the camera?

UPDATE
I was able to get my system working. I assigned 192.168.1.126 as the camera ip address. I then went to my ethernet TCP/IPv4 settings and entered under "use the following ip address" 192.168.1.1. I went to Chrome and entered 192.168.1.126 in the address bar and it found the camera program. I was able to see video, run the PTZ controls. FYI, this is with the camera cable plugged directly into my computer. I then went to wireless LAN in the camera program and found my wireless router, filled in all the password, etc. info. I unplugged the ethernet cable and 15 seconds later re-browsed for 192.168.1.126 and it found the camera program (and video) wirelessly. So I guess I am up and running.
My next hurdle is recording the camera. I am using Chrome which does not seem to support VLC, so I am using "Server Push" mode. This mode does not have recording capability or audio capability I do not think. Anybody out there using Chrome? How did you get around this? I assume I will need third party software to handle recording. What do you suggest?
