Title: Windows ME software issues
Post by: reible on January 03, 2005, 11:20:31 AM
I sure am seeing a lot of "issues" with this
purchase.

I have had only two versions of the software
on my system (got it just before Christmas).
The first one 3.???? I had up for a day or
so when the current 3.175 came out so I
"upgraded".  Now if I try F2 to bring up the
activity monitor nothing happens, if I use
the drop down 90% of the time it does not
open a window I can see.... A second AHP
appears in the taskbar but the actual window
can not be seen.  Sometimes I can click on
the taskbar and a not fully formed window
sits on the AHP window......  If I close and
open the AHP several times and keep trying it
final works.

The second problem is an error "Activehm has
caused an error in X10NET.DLL ..."

We're taking a look at the Activity Monitor
problem on some Windows ME systems here. When
do you get the second error?

I have only seen this a couple of times and
it seems to be related to my firewall seeing
an application hijacking where actvehm.exe
launches iexplore.exe...... If I say "no" to
access this happens.  The iexplore goes no
where as my spyware programs think x10 sites
are not to be allowed.

This happens hours after I start AHP is not
related to the first check that happens.

I now just say "yes" and have not seen the
problem, to check this out I will do a "no"
at the next request.
