Title: Camera Software Comparisons...
Post by: cnpalmer on February 26, 2008, 04:32:02 PM
I purchased the AHP software suite with all the plug-ins (including the iWatchOut one).

Looking over some of the other software available, am I able to perform the same tasks with AHP as I would be with one of the other software packages available?

I see these are listed:
iWatchOut
XRay Vision
PanTilt PRO
MultiView
MultiView w/WebView
Vanguard

What are the differences between these? I could not locate a comparison chart showing what each one offers that is different from the next. Just making sure I have the right software (iWatchOut) so I can:

What does the user community recommend as the best one to use list here?

The answer to this question would also be helpful to me! For my envisioned monitoring system, X-10 customer service is recommending the Vanguard Internet Control Center software whereas some experienced users in these forums are suggesting the Active Home Pro (AHP) with plug-ins software.
I'm very handy with hardware but would prefer software that installs in a straightforward fashion, is easy to set up with the selected hardware,  & is reliable.
The daily bombardment of "offers" from the X-10  sales department is slick/enticing BUT  also confusing to a novice!

cnpalmer & traveler
I have used 3 of the listed software listed and AHP/ iWitness (iWatchout) wins out over Xray and Vangaurd Hands down! ;)
For the money Xray is hard to beat but doesn't supply video!
Vangaurd was a royal pain for me to set up( never realy gave it a chance as I allready had iwtness)
AHP and the video Plug-in is the most up todate Cam Software from x10! Add the other plug-ins and it shines over the other cam software from the company! ;)

I recommend Vanguard and asking for the Sentinel Version of the software. Thats the most updated.
