Dawn and Dusk are off again
« on: October 29, 2005, 07:49:38 PM »

For the last week Dawn and Dusk have not
been working correctly.  It is not a problem
with the lookup table on the hardware...its
software.  I have had this system for a year
now, and it consistently has problems with
dawn and dusk about a week or so before each
time change.  In another week it will begin
working correctly again.  Fix your
software!!!

I was happy to see my dusk/dawn timers and
other timers were right on schedule last
night and this morning after the time change.
I have a flood/dusk dawn set to dusk+20min
and off at 10pm that has worked consistantly
for months and months.  It is not connected
to the PC and seems to be pretty stable.
Wonder why you are having so much trouble
with your dusk/dawn timers ?  I run 2 CM15A's
and one TM571.  One master CM15A to run
everything but the RF sensors and a TM571 in
a remote shop to signal intrusion back thru
the master in the house.  I would be
interested in your dusk/dawn troubleshooting
and resolution.

Make sure that if you want as close to the
actual time that you set the hardware
configuration to as low a resolution as you
want. The larger resolutions may mean that
the times can be out a large amount - just
about an hour over the 32 day period.

Good point Donald.  The further north (or
south in the southern hemisphere) you live,
the more resolution you need on dawn and dusk
settings.  Those who live in the Tropics only
have about a 1-hour variation from summer to
winter where as those in the Arctic Circle
have a 12-hour time variation.

I wonder what AHP does for dawn and dusk
times on the days near the summer and winter
solstices if you live within the Arctic
Circle since there is no sunrise or sunset. ;)
