Title: european electrical standard and tv

am in France for the forseeable
future...can I use the full range of the
equipment if I use a transformer from 110v
to 220-240v ?

I'm thinking not, but I could be wrong. The
reason I'm thinking 'not' is because the X-
10 signal will meet the primary coil in the
transformer and will not be transferred to
the switching device.
What kind of transformer are we talking
about, though? Are you going to get an
industrial-strength tranformer to drop the
the voltage for the whole house? Will your
local codes, there, allow for that?
