Title: Controller Problems
Post by: baskerbri on October 20, 2006, 11:50:12 PM
Hello
For some reason my ActiveHome Controller is no longer able to operate most of my modules although all modules can still be operated by my manual controllers. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
Brian

Any new additions to the home that maybe sucking up X10 signals or noise makers.
Like computers TVs new appliances with computer controls?
Did you test with the manual controller [model may help here] in the same place as the AH controller.
Active Home Interface would indicate the older CM11A serial unit is that what you have or is it the Active Home Pro CM15A USB Unit that this area of the forums covers?

Hi Brian,
Yes, it is the USB controller I am using. Thanks for your suggestions! I tried hooking up a manual controller to the outlet and it no longer functions as well. Moved the controller to an outlet less than 5 feet away and it now works fine.... Very strange. Once again thanks.
Cheers!
Brian

Near the computer by chance? Try the manual controller with the computer unplugged if it is close or maybe on the same circuit.

Another thing to try is running a long extension cord from different outlets and plugging the CM15A into the extension cord.  If that works, then perhaps all you need is an X10 filter for your PC.

Plug-in manual controllers generally output a somewhat higher X10 signal level than the CM15A.
