Title: Can I do this? Lamp Issue

I have 2 lamps in my living room.
I would like to turn both on when I turn one of them on.
Can I do this with AM466 on both sides?

What would be the best way to do so?

Please be more specific.  What are you using to turn the first lamp on?  Are you using an X10 control or the switch in the lamp, etc.

Yes, you can set a bunch of AM466 to respond to the same signal.
Having everything turn on at the same time.

The signal itself will need to come from some controller or transceiver though.
You can't use the on off switch of the lamp to turn them both on.

If you are just controlling 2-prong lamp modules, look at the LM465 lamp module instead.

You won't hear the clicking of the relay as in the appliance module.

Since I want to probably use simplement different later,
I prefer to go ahead and buy 2X AM466.

But I thought the AM466 already had a transmiter that I could use
to send the signl to another computer.

So turning on Switch A My LAMP A would be ON and the relay would
pass a signal to AM466 (a) to AM466(B) and Lamp B would be okd.

No.   The AM466 doesn't do that.  I can't think of a single module that does.
Maybe someone else can chime in.

The closest i can think of is with a 2-way module.

Still, it doesn't send out a message saying that the lamp was turn on.

A computer interface must be connected and polling for status every so often, so
even then it won't be like turn on lamp one, lamp 2 turns on.

Most X10 setups, people give up local control of the lamp.   Mainly because if you
turn the lamp off locally with the button, you can't turn the
lamp on remotely.   You lose control of the lamp/device when it's off.

So most setup leaves the lamp/appliance in the on position, and let the
module control the on/off feature using a controller or transceiver(+remote)

You can have a stick on light switch that sends a signal to a tranceiver and
turn on and off both lights.  Or some other remote available.

But there is no X10 device I've seen yet that does what you ask.

Multiple modules on the same House/Unit Code are fine. Even a mix of Lamp and Appliance. Just a dim would only do the lamps. I have 8 on one scene code [not X10 but compatible] and each on an individual code. I can use one to turn all on or individual codes for each separately.

So what would be the best scenario for me?

On the first I would have what product? An WS467??
On the second lamp a AM466?

Basic X10 usage...

A Transmitter -> A Transceiver -> Modules that will respond to PLC Commands

SS13A -> TM751 -> Some AM466 / LM465 / or WS467 -> Lights
KR19A -> RR501 -> AM486 -> Lights

SS13A -> CM15A <-> AM14A -> Lights

The Smarthome 2-way LampLinc modules do that, in particular the model 2000STW I have.  It transmits an On or Off X10 signal when the lamp is manually switched On or Off respectively.   If you send it an X10 On signal and the lamp happens to be manually switched Off, it will return an X10 Off signal.  Unfortunately it's been discontinued but here's the web page: http://www.smarthome.com/2000stw.html
Perhaps some of their other models work the same.

It is amusing (and probably confusing) if there are lamps on two of these modules with the same housecode|unit address and both are manually switched Off.  When either is manually switched On, it will turn Off a second or so later when it gets the Off signal from the other lamp's module.

Yes, two 2000STW will work.  Just don't manually switch both lamps off else you'll end up in the amusing situation I described.
You could also use one 2000STW and one WS467 (or AM466), so long as you understand that only the 2000STW can control both lamps when its connected lamp is manually switched..

But using a WS467 and AM466 won't work since neither transmit anything - they're both only receivers.

Good Afternoon,

Yes you can, the module gets its control information from the power line which takes the command to all units connected regardless of there code settings.  You can set bunches of them to the same code, no problems.  Assuming no phase problems etc just set them to the same code.  And any device that can put the correct code on the power line will operate them. That is one of the beauties of the X10 system.  There may be a momentary delay between them but that should be considered normal.

Give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised.
