Title: contact closure to trigger transmit X10 command code to an Applicance module
Post by: froggy on November 12, 2006, 05:24:14 PM
I am interested in some comment on how I can best use a switch contact closure to trigger the transmision of an X10 code to activate an applicance module at another location.  In effect, I need to trigger an X10 wall switch triggerd by a spst contact.  Any suggestions?
The universal module works on the  recreiving end of the command transmission.
I need a similar kind of a module that acts as an X10 switch with an external isolated dry contract closure.

The Opposite of Universal Module is the PowerFlash (http://www.x10.com/security/x10_pf284.htm)

Powerflash will do what you want.
I have one triggered by a doorbell current sensor [it can accept a low DC or AC voltage also besides the dry contact trigger]. It sounds a chime module in the cellar where I can't always hear the doorbell.
