I am using Active Home Pro and attempting to activate a SR227 receptacle. Unfortuantely, it clicks on-off-on-off quickly and does not activate. Another 'on' command from AHP does the same thing. I have these outlets through out my house and the others work fine. Any advice? Also, I have a mini-timer that I've tried, but I got the same results. I've tried changing the code and insured it was not taken, no luck. I look at the AHP log and the command is sent successfully.
Thanks for your help.

The receptacle is probably bad.
Try changing the load in the SR227 and see if it gives same action, try something like an incandescent light.
When an X10 receptacle or appliance module rapidly goes "clicky-clicky-click", it usually means that the controller chip in the module can not determine the status of the relay, or did not see the relay change state when told to. The chip then "fires" the relay three times to try and remedy the problem.
The relay could be "frozen" or the relay output feedback is not getting coupled back to the chip.

I have seen posts that indicated the small plastic actuator maybe broken and the switch is not cycling. Multiple clicks are one of the symptoms.

- How old is this SR227?
. - How often is it used?
. - I agree that it sounds like MECHANICAL FAILURE. I recall some posts about a "Repair Procedure" a few months ago. Use ADVANCED SEARCH and try Member "Oldtimer".
. - How handy are you? ;)
Best of luck! :)
