Title: RWS17 doesn't turn on light
Post by: roygbiv on December 02, 2006, 02:36:27 PM
I have a VERY simple setup:  Basically the outside motion sensor is supposed to activate an indoor chime and turn on the porch light.  The chime works but the porch light does not turn on automatically.  Seems like the wiring to the switch is ok as the light does turn on in manual mode (hitting the paddle).

EagleEye MS14A (C4)
Transceiver TM751 (C)
Remote Chime SC546A (C4)
Dimmer Switch RWS17 (C4)

I've tried changing the home and unit settings just for kicks, in case one was slightly "off".  But, nothing works.  Just seems like the RWS17 is just not getting the signal.

I'm new to this stuff, so if I am just blantantly missing another piece of hardware to make this work, please let me know.

Thanks!

roygbiv: Try moving your Transceiver to a different outlet.

A couple things to think about:

Always good to MAP your circuits to know what you are dealing with; not only when problems arise, but for planning as well.  ;)
