Title: will MS14A work with RS 49-1000
Post by: CHAVEZ on December 02, 2006, 06:38:14 PM
Hello, new here to the X-10 stuff.  I have had an RS 49-1000 unit in my home for a while and found a box of old X-10 components in the attic.  There is an MS14A motion detector and I was wondering if this would work with my unit to trigger the alarm.  So far I have had no luck in registering it.  Thanks!

No it is not a Security type sensor. I believe the console will act as a transceiver and pass the sensors commands back to the powerline if the house codes are the same. To control other standard X10 devices.

Thanks for the reply, Brian.  BTW, also thanks for the info from like almost 2 years ago regarding the external siren setup for the 49-1000.  I've yet to get to RS to buy the parts for this.  Did you ever do anymore experimenting with this?  Like putting a reed relay before the buzzer transformer?

Thanks again!

No I never got back to the project. I can't remember if someone else may have tried it.
