I'm using on my CM15A (mod external antenna) with a wire RG59U and AM antenna.
My tests noticed that run fine with PalmPad anywhere in my house but poor with few SS13A !
I tried any HomeMade antenna, but for SS13A again a same problem !
Each time, If I distant my SS13A from the wall, they work well !
I tried to uninstall CM15A, and use my TM751 only.... All SS13A and Palmpad(anywhere) run fine anywhere !
Finally, maybe I will buy w800rf32a, but I will try others antenna or others wire !
Does a wire RG58/U would be better ?
When i do our own antenna, is it obligatory to use components an exact length or is this a myth ?
Is it possible to add antenna to ss13A ?

marineau: I thought you disabled the receiver in your CM15A ???
The frontend of the receiver is 50 Ohms, so it would be best to keep the coax and antenna all at 50 Ohms. The length of the antenna is not a myth... it's physics. ;)
There is a link in TTA's post here (http://www.x10community.com/forums/index.php?topic=9470.msg56198#msg56198) for a passive repeater that may help with the SS13A.

I have the same problem with the SS13A's and the CM15A, I just gave up on getting it to work together. The SS13A's signal isn't strong enough and the CM15A's reception sucks :) I use a seperate transciever in area's where I have SS13A's installed.

Yes, hihihi, all others modules work fine... just few ss13A

Are your walls constructed of plaster over metal lath? The lath will suck up the RF signal.

I removed a existing switch from a metal box(in wall), and install SS13A over this metal box ....
Probably that this is a partial response to my problem, but I ask me :
"Why does work fine since 2 months with my (20 ft)TM751 (no external antenna), and not with (near 8 ft) CM15A(with external antenna) ?"
Maybe I will change my metal box for a plastic box !

OH the antenna for the SS13A is in the back. The metal box may block the signals.
Why the TM751 works. In this case the added distance to the remote CM15A antenna maybe too far with the switch signal blocked or distorted by the metal box.
