Title: Switch Question
Post by: marvin51796 on January 23, 2007, 10:15:22 PM
I have an over head fan/light, the fan goes to one switch the light goes to another switch. I know i can use a regular switch (WS467) for the lights, but is there a certain model i have to use for the fan to work??
thanks for any help.

The X10Pro XPS3  switch may be what you want. Go to http://www.x10pro.com/ for more information on the switches.

Check to make sure you have a neutral power wire in addition to the line and load available in the switch box. The relay types need a neutral.

X10 PRO XPDI3 wall switch will give you speed control for your fan, but the fan motor will probably buzz. If motor hum is unacceptable, go with Dans suggestion of the XPS3 which is just ON and OFF control.

I use a XPS3 to control a PRS511. I only want the PRS511 to be on at specified times, which was difficult with Active Home.  When I got AHP, I left it alone. The XPs3 works fine and responds to timers.
